About The Other 98%
The Other 98% is a grassroots network of concerned people fed up with the status quo in Washington. We seek practical solutions to the many challenges facing America. We stand against the bankers, CEOs and lobbyists who have hijacked our democracy to serve themselves at the expense of everyone else.
Our Mission: We need a massive new movement to kick corporate lobbyists out of DC, hold our elected officials accountable, and fix our democracy to make Washington work for the other 98% of us.
We are a voice for the vast majority of Americans. We are everywhere. And we are hopeful.
We got started on Tax Day, 2010.
The Other 98% is (almost) all of us. It’s a political home for the silent majority of Americans who are tired of corporate control of Washington and the Tea Party extremism that — wittingly or unwittingly — works to protect it.
We welcome participation from across the political spectrum. Our current partners include Agit-Pop Communications, Program on Inequality and the Common Good, and MoveOn.org.
