The Other 98% Pledge for a Better Democracy

Overturn Citizens United:

• Amend the Constitution to protect America from unlimited corporate spending on our elections by overturning the Supreme Court’s decision giving corporations the same First Amendment rights as people.

Fair elections now:

• Pass the Fair Elections Now Act, providing public financing to candidates who are supported by small donors so they can compete with corporate-backed and self-funded candidates.

Lobbyist Reform Act:

• Pass legislation to end the overwhelming influence of corporate lobbyists by: prohibiting individuals from switching from corporate lobbying to government service, or vice-versa, within a 5-year period; stopping corporate lobbyists from giving gifts and providing free travel to government officials; and posting online the attendees and content of all meetings between lobbyists and government officials.

Promesa para una Democracia Mejor del Otro 98%

Revocar a Citizens United (Ciudadanos Unidos):

• Enmendar la Constitución para proteger a Estados Unidos del gasto corporativo ilimitado en nuestras elecciones revocando la decisión de la Corte Suprema que otorga a las corporaciones los mismos derechos de la Primera Enmienda que a las personas.

Elecciones justas ahora:

• Promulgar el Ley de Elecciones Justas Ahora, , suministrando financiamiento público a candidatos que son apoyados por donantes menores a fin de que puedan competir con candidatos apoyados por corporaciones y fondos propios.

Ley de Reforma de Cabilderos

• Aprobar una ley para acabar con la abrumadora influencia de los cabilderos corporativos del siguiente modo: Prohibiendo a individuos el pase de cabildeo corporativo a servicio gubernamental, o viceversa, dentro de un período de cinco (5) años; poner fin a los regalos y viajes gratuitos a funcionarios del gobierno por parte de los cabilderos corporativos; y publicando en Internet los asistentes y contenido de todas las juntas entre los cabilderos y funcionarios del gobierno.
